Inland Empire and quitting Facebook

January 1st, 2008 § 3 comments

Is the hottest, most disturbing and beautifully fascinating movie I’ve seen all year. I wish all movies were this amazing. He’s actually managing to make Laura Dern mildly attractive to me.

Oh, and I quit facebook. If that’s the future of social networking–so what. I like the idea of finding out what my friends are doing, but all they do there is facebook stuff. It’s not like I’m finding out about the whole of their lives, which is a shame. I’d love to hear about their stories, vacations, loves, interests, learnings, losses, etc. But all I get is, “so and so added the ___ application.” Who the fuck cares?

I’d like to get back to writing more. I can feel it coming.

“Oh, and I quit facebook.” That is the smartest, hottest and most exciting thing. Seriously.

And I agree, Laura Dern IS magnificent. But how you did not see that in Wild at Heart, or even in the cinematic dry heave that is Rambling Rose, is beyond me.

I haven’t seen Wild at Heart or Rambling Rose, and I LOVE Stell-Dora Breakfast Treats.
